Gorilla 7-17-2017
During a visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom in July 2017, I spent time watching this gorilla seated among the greenery. Primates can change their posture in a heartbeat, so you have to keep your finger on the shutter. This gorilla picked up a green celery stalk to snack on and turned toward the observation trail with what looked like a subtle smirk.
The photo depicts a massive western lowland gorilla sitting upright in a grassy woodland habitat. The gorilla rests its hands together, holding a small piece of green food near its chest while looking forward with a relaxed facial expression. Surrounding the primate are patches of low green leaves and scattered foliage, illuminated by soft natural daytime sunlight that defines its muscular shoulders.
