Easter M&M’s 4-20-2014
Emptying a bag of pastel Easter M&M’s into a shallow white bowl gave me an easy subject for a cheerful tabletop macro study. The muted holiday color palette stood out nicely against the kitchen counter, offering plenty of graphic patterns to play with up close under soft window light.
The top-down macro shot fills the frame with smooth candy shells in soft shades of mint green, lavender, baby blue, and pale yellow. Crisp black ‘m’ stamps provide sharp graphic contrast across the glossy surfaces, while natural overhead window light casts gentle, subtle reflections across the colorful confection pile without harsh glare.
