Daffodil 6-28-2013
I positioned my macro lens just inches away from this poet’s daffodil to highlight its striking central detail up close. Working with soft, diffused overcast light eliminated harsh reflections and kept the pure white tones of the broad petals clean, even, and natural across the entire botanical frame without losing fine surface texture.
The balanced composition places the flower’s bright yellow center squarely in focus, framed evenly by overlapping white petals. A delicate red margin traces the ruffled cup rim around textured stamens, while the out-of-focus green background ensures zero visual distractions, letting the graphic floral geometry stand out cleanly in natural light.
