Waiting for the light to break revealed clean silhouettes along the waterfront piers and Lower Manhattan buildings.
The horizontal composition stretches the Brooklyn Bridge completely across the center frame, connecting Brooklyn to Manhattan with sweeping gothic cables. Intense backlighting turns the historic stone towers and steel roadway into defined silhouettes against a textured sky. Sun glitter dances across the surface of the East River, balancing the cool blue tones of the water.
