Hot Air Balloon 7-21-2017
Positioning yourself just off the launch pad gives you an incredible angle as a balloon ascends overhead. The massive envelope blocks out the sun, showing off its size and the craftsmanship of the rigging. I pointed my lens up toward the basket just as the craft began climbing into clear skies.
The composition captures the dramatic curvature of the balloon base, ringed by layered bands of yellow, orange, crimson, purple, and green. A woven wicker basket hangs suspended below, with guide cables and safety lines fully visible. The vibrant color gradient stands out cleanly against a clear, deep blue background.
