Flower 7-7-2015
Summer meadows are filled with hardy wildflowers that brighten up roadside edges and open green spaces. I noticed this bright yellow tickseed bloom standing tall above the tall grass and got down to its level for a direct macro portrait. Keeping the horizon clear created a calm, uncluttered frame focused squarely on the flower’s geometric petals.
The composition highlights the notched petal tips of the vibrant yellow bloom, centered around a textured, dome-shaped seed cone. Diffuse ambient summer lighting preserves fine surface ridges along each petal, while the smooth emerald green background keeps the viewing experience relaxed and visually balanced.
