Urban courtyards offer peaceful pockets of greenery tucked away from bustling city sidewalks. While exploring the grounds of a church courtyard in Lower Manhattan, I moved in tight on this fresh white daisy bloom to capture the repeating geometry hidden within its center. Working at close range required steady breathing to nail critical sharpness on the disk florets.
The macro composition fills the entire frame with broad, overlapping white petals radiating out from an intricate spiral of lime green and yellow florets. Subtle gray shadows along the petal contours define each layer with tactile depth, making this clean, minimalist floral image an ideal backdrop for clean desktop workspaces.
