Topsmead State Forest 2-18-2015
Topsmead State Forest is one of my regular spots for an afternoon walk with the camera, particularly around the quiet grounds of the historic cottage. Standing just outside the low garden wall gives a great vantage point looking through the open wooden gate toward the rolling lawns. The fresh summer air and manicured estate grounds always make this corner of the property feel exceptionally calm.
The image frames a fieldstone wall and weathered wooden gate flanked by two large terracotta planters filled with red, white, and purple blooms. A natural stone pathway cuts through the center of the frame, guiding the eye past the vibrant garden flowers toward the soft green fields and distant trees beyond.
