Happy Pigs 8-3-2013
Taking a stroll through Action Wildlife in Goshen, Connecticut, always yields some fun animal encounters, and these two pigs in their pen were having the time of their lives. Lounging in the cool dirt without a care in the world, they looked completely content soaking in a lazy summer afternoon together in the shade.
Rendered in high-contrast black and white, the photo puts a spotlight on the stout pot-bellied pig resting in the dirt foreground. The detailed tonal range emphasizes the coarse bristly hair, mud-crusted snout, and wrinkled skin, while its sleeping companion lies stretched out comfortably in the shaded pen behind.
