Giraffe 7-24-2017

I captured this giraffe shot while riding through the safari attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in June 2017. The vehicle moves constantly, so you have to be quick with your camera settings to get a sharp image. This giraffe was grazing right near the path, making it easy to frame the shot against the dark tree line in the distance.

The image features a giraffe leaning its long neck down to eat from a patch of tall green grass. The animal’s distinct brown and white patterned coat stands out brightly against the shaded background. A dense row of dark green trees fills the top half of the frame. The afternoon sunlight illuminates the giraffe’s back and the edges of the tall grass.
