Sleeping Fox 6-17-2015
Every once in a while, wildlife photography happens right in your own backyard without any elaborate planning. My wife looked out and spotted this young red fox curled up sound asleep right on top of my lawn clipping pile. It had flattened out a cozy nest in the dried grass and looked completely peaceful under the afternoon shade.
I framed the resting fox across the center of the frame, capturing the rich orange-red fur of its sleeping body tucked against the golden thatch. Its large triangular ears stand alert even in sleep, framed by deep green summer woods in the background. The natural textures and calm woodland mood make for a warm, grounded desktop image.
