Wild Flowers 5-18-2014
Dame’s rocket wildflowers often carpet Connecticut roadsides and woodland borders each May with vibrant violet color. I found this flowering stalk catching gentle morning sun along a trail and framed the petals against soft forest foliage. Opening the aperture wide allowed the foreground blossom to pop cleanly while turning the woods into smooth bokeh.
The image highlights delicate four-petaled purple wildflowers showing fine vein patterns and tiny golden-green central pistils. Gentle side lighting accentuates the silky texture and soft lavender gradation across each petal. A smooth lime-green background of out-of-focus foliage complements the cool violet tones, producing an authentic, vibrant celebration of early summer wild flora.
