Mahogany Bay 5-8-2017
Sailing directly into Mahogany Bay in Roatan provided a striking first impression of the lush tropical coastline. Looking across the clear blue Caribbean water toward the forested hillsides, the unexpected sight of a rusted iron shipwreck grounded near the shore immediately caught my eye and demanded a shot from the upper deck.
Vibrant turquoise and royal blue ocean fills the foreground, leading toward a tranquil shoreline lined with small white boats and dense tropical forest. The crumbling, rust-colored shipwreck on the right provides rugged industrial contrast against the vibrant natural greenery and clear blue Caribbean sky spanning the horizon line.
