Honey Bee 5-7-2016
Crouching down low in my backyard lawn with a macro lens on a sunny spring afternoon, I spent twenty minutes tracking this single honey bee as it hopped between blooming clover heads. With wild honey bee populations facing challenges, spotting a healthy pollinator working diligently up close is always an encouraging sight to document.
The shot delivers exceptional detail, focusing right on the bee’s fuzzy golden-brown thorax, delicate translucent wings, and pollen basket packed with yellow dust. The pale white and soft pink clover petals stand out against a creamy, out-of-focus background of lush green grass and soft afternoon sunlight.
