Woodridge Lake 10-15-2012
Woodridge Lake in Goshen is a quiet spot during autumn once the summer boat traffic clears out. I walked down to the water’s edge on a quiet mid-October morning to capture the colorful shoreline reflected on the still surface. Diffused light from a high cloud deck kept the water smooth as glass and brought out rich fall color along the ridge.
The composition features colorful canoes and kayaks resting overturned along the grassy shoreline in the immediate foreground, leading the viewer out across the lake. Calm water mirrors the wooded hillsides blanketed in autumn greens, yellows, and oranges under soft overcast skies. The tranquil New England landscape provides a balanced, spacious composition for widescreen displays.
