Lazy Lions 8-4-2017

Cruising through the African safari territory at Disney’s Animal Kingdom during the warmer part of the day, finding lions on the move is pretty rare. These two lionesses were sprawled out across the top of a giant rock outcropping, perfectly content taking a quiet, uninterrupted afternoon nap in the shade.

The horizontal composition captures both big cats stretched across textured reddish-brown rock, with one sleeping flat on its belly and the other curled on its side. Soft ambient daylight reveals subtle muscle definition, soft tawny coats, and oversized paws against a lush green forest backdrop, creating a calm natural wildlife scene.
