Candy Store 5-25-2013
While stopping by Dylan’s Candy Bar inside Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut, the playful interior design immediately caught my eye. Looking straight up toward the high ceiling revealed an impressive canopy of giant, translucent candy sculptures that practically begged for an upward wide-angle perspective on my camera.
The composition looks directly up into a sculpted white tree structure topped with oversized lollipop discs in ruby red, sunny yellow, royal blue, and emerald green. Warm overhead gallery spotlights shine right through the glossy, colored acrylic discs, projecting rich bursts of saturated color across the bright ceiling and striped wall trim below.
