Golden Retriever 2-21-2013

I took my camera out to a local field on a cold, sunny afternoon to photograph this Golden Retriever playing catch. The fresh snow made for a great backdrop, completely blanketing the ground. It is always fun shooting dogs in action, especially when they are focused on retrieving a snow-covered ball. I had to use a fast shutter speed to freeze the movement.

The photo shows a Golden Retriever walking toward the camera through a snow-covered field. The dog has a heavily snow-caked tennis ball in its mouth and is wearing a collar with blue and green tags. The background features a blurred line of bare winter trees, separating the bright white snow from the skyline. Soft, natural sunlight illuminates the dog’s golden coat.
