Cow 8-9-2013
Visiting Action Wildlife out in Goshen on a warm August afternoon, I spotted this heavy ox taking an easy break in the tall grass. It was resting comfortably just a few feet from an old stone wall, chewing leisurely and completely unfazed by visitors walking along the fence line. It made for a great, quiet study in patient farm life under the summer sun.
The shot centers on the brown bovine lying down in a field of vibrant clover and pasture grass. Soft midday light reveals the ridged shoulder hump, curved horn, and rich chocolate-brown coat, set neatly against the textured fieldstone wall in the background.
