Great Horned Owl 11-27-2017
During a family trip down to Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Florida, we stopped by the Flights of Wonder bird presentation to watch the handlers work with different raptors. When this handsome Great Horned Owl was brought out and settled onto a weathered wooden perch right near our section, I quickly adjusted my settings to capture its regal stance.
The bird is framed in full view, perched proudly on a rough-cut tree trunk post with its talons firmly gripped on the wood. Crisp focus reveals dense brown and barred wing feathers and tall ear tufts, balanced by soft, bright green foliage and warm wooden pillars creating creamy bokeh behind.
