Maned Wolf 10-03-2012
Spotting a maned wolf resting peacefully in the dappled shade was a true highlight while photographing wildlife exhibits on a crisp autumn morning. Rather than pacing its enclosure, this beautiful animal was curled up comfortably near a large boulder, drifting off to sleep with complete trust in its quiet surroundings.
The close profile portrait highlights the animal’s striking golden-red fur, distinct black muzzle, and large upright ears resting against lush green grass and garden foliage. Soft, filtered sunlight illuminates the rich texture of its coat while keeping harsh shadows at bay, resulting in a gentle, warm, and natural wildlife study.
