Foliage
Peak autumn in New England happens fast, making clear blue-sky afternoons essential for getting outside with a camera before the leaves drop down to the ground. Looking up through the branches revealed a dense, glowing ceiling of sugar maple leaves completely illuminated by bright midday sunshine, creating an impressive vibrant canopy overhead. This shot was taken at Topsmead State Forest in Litchfield, Connecticut.
The composition frames reaching tree limbs across the upper frame, showcasing sharp leaf veins and saturated gold and amber tones. Crisp blue sky and puffy white clouds fill the bottom spaces, producing a vibrant, natural color contrast that delivers clean seasonal energy and depth to any desktop workspace.
