Hot Air Balloon 10-9-2017
Being in the middle of a massive hot air balloon festival at sunrise is an unforgettable, high-energy experience. Thousands of spectators spread across the open grass while dozens of uniquely shaped envelopes launch simultaneously into the dawn light. I stepped back to take in the entire scope of the festival grounds. This was taken at the 2017 Adirondack Balloon Festival with my 8mm fish eye lens.
The wide panoramic composition captures a bright sunburst rising over the horizon, casting warm morning light across crowds and ascending balloons. Novelty shapes, including a giant scarecrow, float alongside traditional multicolored spheres that dot the sky into the distance. It makes a lively, expansive wallpaper for dual and ultrawide screens.
