Collinsville Old Mill 3-26-2013
I spent a brisk late-March morning exploring the scenic Farmington River corridor in Collinsville. The historic red axe factory buildings stand right at the water’s edge, offering an incredible look into Connecticut’s rich industrial past. Walking along the quiet riverbank in the cool morning air, the absolute stillness of the water provided an immediate photo opportunity.
The wide angle captures the red clapboard mill complex and iconic bell tower wrapping around the calm mill pond. Crisp early spring sunlight brings out sharp crimson reflections across the water surface, contrasted nicely by bare shoreline trees and a clear blue New England sky.
