Bermuda Sunrise 4-24-2017
Watching the early morning sky shift offshore on our final day in Bermuda brought heavy clouds sweeping across the horizon, partially masking the rising sun. Tracking the break in the dense clouds with a telephoto zoom allowed me to isolate the exact moment the fiery core broke cleanly through the heavy morning cloud deck.
Deep, dark charcoal storm clouds cup the bottom of the frame, creating high contrast against the glowing amber atmosphere above. The bright white disc of the sun punches through the haze, illuminating the rim lighting along the ruffled edges of each cloud bank with dramatic warmth and depth.
