Blue Angels Fat Albert 4-21-2017
Watching Fat Albert bank overhead is just as impressive as seeing the fighter jets tear past the flightline. The massive C-130 Hercules always commands immediate attention at the air show, delivering a surprising amount of maneuverability for a heavy military transport aircraft. Standing near the runway gives you a genuine sense of scale as the four large turboprop engines rumble through the airfield. This shot was taken at the New England Air Show in 2015.
This photograph catches the aircraft mid-bank against a backdrop of soft, scattered clouds. The signature bright yellow nose, white upper fuselage, and deep blue wings stand out sharply against the pale sky. The steep angle showcases the United States Marines lettering along the lower wing surface and highlights the classic lines of this legendary support plane.
