Bermuda Sunset 4-28-2017

Watching the sun drop over the harbor in Bermuda was a great way to wind down after a day spent exploring the island. As the sun slipped behind a dense band of low-hanging storm clouds, the sky opened up with a burst of warm amber light right along the water horizon. The bay grew calm, leaving the anchored sailboats rocking gently on the tide.

The composition places the glowing sun low on the horizon, backlighting dark cloud formations above and throwing a broad golden reflection across the harbor water. In the midground, masts and hulls of moored boats form clean silhouettes against the pale coastal hills. Dark palm trees and shoreline cottages anchor the distance, balancing the rich warmth of the evening sky.
