Kent Falls 4-22-2016
Hikes along the upper trail at Kent Falls State Park in Connecticut offer fantastic opportunities to isolate smaller drops rather than just sticking to the typical wide vistas. Stepping right up beside a wet granite ledge allowed me to focus directly on the raw speed and glassy surface of the mountain stream.
This close-up freezes clear cold water curving over a smooth river stone, transitioning from a silky olive-green crest into churning white spray below. A fast shutter speed preserves individual water droplets and bubbly textures in sharp detail, creating an organic abstract feel that sits nicely behind everyday desktop windows and icons.
