Flower 10-7-2015
A summer walk through the botanical grounds at the Bronx Zoo offered plenty of lively garden beds, but this heavy cluster of crape myrtle blossoms immediately stood out along the pathway. The intricate, ruffled petal structure caught the soft daylight beautifully without getting washed out in harsh shadows.
Ruffled pink flower clusters fill the upper and right portions of the frame, showing off dense crinkled petals, tight green seed pods, and fine golden stamens. A soft, out-of-focus background of muted green foliage and rosy pink bokeh provides gentle depth, making the crisp organic textures and rich floral tones stand out cleanly on computer displays.
