Great Dane 8-22-2015
We were hanging out at a casual outdoor concert on the town green in Prospect, Connecticut, when this striking Harlequin Great Dane walked past with its owners. The dog carried such a calm, steady presence despite all the crowd noise and live music, so I stepped in for a quick close-up portrait before the evening light faded away completely.
The shot catches a sharp profile view, framing the dog’s distinctive black-and-white patched coat, alert cropped ears, and expressive dark eyes. Warm evening backlighting hits the soft summer trees in the distance, throwing the entire background into smooth bokeh that separates every facial detail cleanly.
