Pumpkins 11-3-2014

During a crisp autumn afternoon, I stopped by March Farm in Bethlehem, Connecticut, to take in the seasonal sights and walk the grounds. Wandering past the farm stands, the dense piles of freshly harvested pumpkins immediately caught my eye with their rich, saturated colors under the clear October sky.

I framed this shot low to fill the entire perspective from edge to edge with rounded shapes and textured green stems. The warm, diffused daylight brings out deep shades of orange and golden yellow, giving the scene an authentic, earthy New England fall atmosphere that works great as a seasonal desktop screen.
