Crab Apple Blossoms 7-19-2014
Late afternoon sunlight broke through the canopy of an ornamental crab apple tree, illuminating these white blossoms directly from behind. Standing just beneath the lower branches let me line up the blooms with golden light filtering warmly through the surrounding foliage, leaves, and shaded garden branches on a calm summer evening.
Brilliant white petals and prominent golden stamens pop cleanly against fresh, deep green leaves in sharp focus. Warm, soft-focus bokeh circles glow softly in the background, creating a bright and airy summer atmosphere that captures the peak vitality of mid-season orchard blooms in full, healthy spread across the garden.
