Ferris Wheel 9-5-2013
Heading out to the Goshen Fair in Connecticut with a tripod has been an annual tradition, especially once the sun sets and the colorful midway lights turn on. Setting up a long exposure near the rides transforms the mechanical spinning motion into glowing streaks of color against the dark evening sky all around.
This long exposure captures the carnival Ferris wheel spinning into a giant circular trail of red, yellow, and blue light streaks against a pitch-black night sky. A secondary spinning ride to the left and fairground trailers below anchor the scene with authentic agricultural fair energy, movement, and atmosphere.
