Countryside 12-2-2012
Driving through the back roads of Cornwall on a quiet late-autumn afternoon, the shifting weather caught my eye along the river. Low rain clouds and mountain fog were drifting down over the hills, wrapping the peak in a cool mist while autumn colors still clung to the lower valley trees. It was one of those peaceful New England country afternoons where you just have to stop the car and take a shot.
The composition uses a rustic split-rail wooden fence in the foreground to lead the viewer along a narrow country road. Vibrant orange and yellow foliage lines the quiet riverbank, contrasting against deep evergreen forests and the cloudy mountain peak above.
