Colebrook River Lake 7-17-2012
Another shot at Colebrook River Lake, this time with a wide-angle lens to capture the steep scale of the south-facing dam wall. Standing near the crest really shows how vast this flood control project is when viewed from above. The open horizon and fresh summer breeze made the short hike along the rim well worth the trip.
The wide perspective sweeps across the massive stone slope on the right, leading the eye down to the calm blue reservoir below. Lush forested ridges hug the distant shoreline beneath a bright blue sky filled with scattered clouds, creating an expansive, rugged landscape.
