Colebrook River Lake 7-10-2012
On a warm July morning, I took a drive up to Colebrook River Lake in Riverton to scout the reservoir. Walking out onto the rocky crest of the dam, the wide expanse of calm blue water and rolling green hills opened up right in front of me. The quiet atmosphere made it an ideal spot to set up the camera and take in the scale of the valley.
The framing places the concrete intake tower and access bridge along the right third, balancing the massive riprap embankment across the foreground. Deep blue water meets puffy white fair-weather clouds, giving the scene strong depth and vibrant summer color from edge to edge.
