Walking along a calm pond on a bright summer afternoon often rewards you with quiet, fleeting wildlife interactions. As I framed a blooming pink water lily resting on the dark pond surface, a slender iridescent damselfly landed right on the stem above the pad. Staying motionless to avoid startling the insect, I locked focus to capture both the fragile winged subject and the open blossom.
