Bronx Zoo Monkey 2-8-2015
Spending time around the primate exhibits at the Bronx Zoo gives you a great chance to capture calm, expressive animal portraits without rapid movement. Waiting quietly near the glass enclosure paid off when this small monkey settled onto a thick mossy branch right in front of the camera lens for a clean, direct look.
The tight portrait focuses on the monkey’s expressive brown eyes and finely detailed facial fur. Soft golden-yellow ear tufts and white whiskers fan outward across dark facial markings, while the gentle diffuse indoor lighting keeps the background soft, muted, and completely distraction-free across the entire frame.
