Flower 005
Water lilies floating peacefully across quiet pond waters possess an iconic, timeless quality that lends itself well to artistic processing. While photographing pond vegetation under bright overhead sun, this crisp white blossom stood out vividly against the surrounding lily pads. Applying selective color desaturated the flat green leaves to monochrome, directing immediate focus to the luminous white petals and golden center.
The composition centers on an open white water lily, its pristine petals cup-shaped around a cluster of vibrant yellow inner stamens. Monochrome lily pads surround the flower, showing weathered textures and surface water droplets that contrast against the clean blossom. The selective coloring creates a dramatic visual anchor, giving the calm water garden scene an artistic and minimalist finish.
