Hot Air Balloon 9-18-2012
Standing directly underneath a hot air balloon right as it floats overhead offers a perspective you rarely see from a distance. The rush of hot air and the massive scale make you feel tiny. I leaned all the way back, framed the burner ring dead center, and took the shot as it passed.
The image showcases the hypnotic symmetry of the balloon underside against a crisp blue border. Concentric rings of bold yellow, navy, purple, green, and red panels radiate outwards from the black center collar. The graphic grid pattern and clean lines make a striking, balanced backdrop for widescreen monitors.
