Wild Flowers 11-15-2013
Late autumn meadows in New York explode with goldenrod, turning overgrown open fields into sea of gold before winter arrives. I set up low right inside the tall grass on an expansive hillside to capture the wild sweep of the landscape. Dramatic breaks in the cloud cover allowed bright afternoon sunshine to illuminate the rolling terrain.
The wide-angle perspective immerses the viewer in dense goldenrod blossoms and leafy green meadow brush sweeping outward toward wooded hillsides. Above the rolling ridge, a dramatic expanse of billowy white clouds and vibrant blue sky frames the sun shining down across the valley. The rich yellow and emerald tones give this spacious landscape lively, invigorating warmth.
