Roman Sculpture 4-18-2015
Walking around the Disney’s Epcot park on a partly cloudy afternoon, I spotted this classical Roman warrior statue perched high on an ornate pillar against a dynamic summer sky. Shooting from a low angle helped emphasize the statue’s heroic stance against the moving clouds.
The frame showcases the stone warrior dressed in traditional armor, grasping a tall iron spear in one hand while steadying an engraved shield over a carved beast. Strong natural sunlight brings out the weathered texture and aged patina of the carved marble, while billowing white clouds add dramatic scale.
