Bulldozer 1-19-2013
Stumbling across retired heavy construction machinery tucked away in an overgrown field makes for great industrial photography. This classic yellow Caterpillar crawler bulldozer has clearly seen decades of tough earthmoving work, now resting among weeds and brush. Getting down low with an ultra-wide lens emphasized the rugged iron tracks and heavy steel front blade against an open blue sky.
The wide-angle perspective captures the weathered yellow paint, rust patches, and exposed mechanical components of the diesel engine and cab. A brilliant winter sunburst flares in the upper left corner, throwing bright light across the machine’s steel surfaces and casting deep shadows along the muddy undercarriage and tread links.
