Barrington Fair Grounds 11-26-2012
Exploring the overgrown perimeter of the Barrington Fair Grounds brought me right up to this abandoned, two-story farm-style house standing quiet in the field. Years of harsh New England winters have weathered the exterior cedar siding down to bare wood, surrounded completely by tall dried weeds, thick brush, and neglected grounds.
I processed this image in black and white to emphasize the rich textures of the peeling wooden boards, cracked window frames, and small covered entryway. The gentle slope of the roofline and barren winter trees against a scattered cloud sky create a somber, historic rural portrait with timeless contrast and clean composition.
