Kent Falls 3-28-2016
Heading out to Kent Falls State Park in Kent, Connecticut during early spring is one of the best times to see water levels surging from melted mountain runoff. The trail was quiet and the air crisp, giving me plenty of time to set up low along the edge of the lower pool.
The wide landscape composition captures the stepped cascade tumbling down rugged dark granite tiers before collecting into clear, amber-tinted shallow water in the foreground. Bare trees frame the steep gorge while bright overcast daylight keeps the churned white foam and textured wet stone sharply defined across widescreen computer monitors.
