Photographing concert performances from the pit requires tracking fast stage movements under rapidly shifting light cues. During this solo set, the stage wash transitioned into a rich, deep blue tone, giving me a crisp silhouette as Sully leaned into an extended electric guitar lead. Waiting for that momentary pause between stage strides gave me just enough stillness to lock down sharp focus on the fretboard.
The shot focuses tight on Sully Erna bent over his electric guitar, fingers pressed along the neck under intense blue stage lighting. Deep shadows define the instrument body and forearm tattoos, creating an energetic, raw rock portrait set against a clean, uncluttered concert backdrop.
