Litchfield Church 1-26-2014
Stopping by the historic town green in Litchfield right after a fresh winter snowfall is always well worth the detour. The historic First Congregational Church stood crisp and bright against the fresh snow-covered lawn, with late afternoon winter light warming the horizon just as textured clouds spread out across the cold blue sky.
Taken with an ultra-wide fisheye lens from the sidewalk corner, the perspective exaggerates the white clapboard facade, fluted columns, and tall church steeple pointing upward. A wide expanse of undisturbed snow blankets the foreground, framed by sweeping cirrocumulus clouds and golden sunset rim light along the trees.
