Apples 9-20-2013

Stopping by a working fruit stand right after the morning pick yields some of the most vibrant textures of autumn. Leaning directly over a wooden crate filled to the brim with freshly harvested apples, the sweet scent of fruit and cool morning air made pausing for a detailed overhead shot irresistible.

The composition packs the frame from edge to edge with overlapping red, gold, and pink-blushed fruit. Soft, natural ambient light accents the glossy curves and tiny natural skin flecks of the apples, while a stray green leaf near the center provides an organic focal anchor with wonderful visual depth.
