Starry Night 8-30-2013
Step outside on a crisp summer night away from city lights, and the night sky reveals just how crowded the stars really are. I set the tripod out in the backyard, pointed straight up through a clearing in the trees, and locked in a long exposure.
Deep navy blue fills the upper atmosphere, dotted with sharp pinpricks of white and pale blue starlight alongside faint traces of cosmic dust. Dark green tree canopies line the bottom and side borders of the frame, naturally enclosing the wide starfield. The cool midnight color palette gives your computer screen a clean, peaceful nighttime backdrop.
