Tomatoes and Green Peppers 9-6-2012

Early September harvest mornings always produce a solid haul from the backyard garden beds when the heat finally breaks. Before washing and slicing these vegetables up for dinner, I brought them inside and laid them out across the clean kitchen prep table. The bright red and deep green colors looked too sharp against the plain white surface not to document with a quick overhead photo.

The composition features four round red garden tomatoes lined up across the top, paired with four long, slender green hot peppers pointing downward. Soft, even indoor light accentuates the glossy skin, natural contours, and firm stems of each piece of produce, creating a balanced and colorful kitchen still life.
